- A lot of ego went into the veterinary thing. (That's Dr. Steinmann, but my kids don't care.) Got to see a lot - Africa, Asia, Alaska - before meeting my husband as a Peace Corps volunteer in Haiti and falling in love. Five countries, three continents, two hemispheres and five kids later - I'm a stay at home Mom trying to remember who the hell it is she was.
